iIn the Fall
I turned another year like those circles we see when we cut down mother nature’s trees
For some reason usually, another year causes excitement but currently, that is not what I see.
Complacency has gotten the best of me…I feel like things move slowly.
Just because you say I’m the only doesn’t mean I can force execution of the feeling “lonely”
Each time I try to fall I get cut down, if my colors change, and I shed my leaves
Do I make a sound if no one is around?
Fall is a time for new beginnings, or at least that is how I feel. I started trying to change some of my negative behaviors in August, but I guess that wasn’t taken into account. And because I take things personally I feel complacent and stuck. It’s almost like people don’t see me. As usual, Ollie, who you will read about A LOT, and her expression of gratitude for how my changes have made our friendship more stable is my God given solace. Another human who has always seen the best parts of me is Nick, another friend I have known for years…He gives me faith when I feel like I have none after turning 27 and watching the leaves change. I always like to express gratitude in my blog posts, because remember the people I love makes me remember how much I love myself. Alright, depressing I’m an old as b**** rant done.
Where to shop: H&M
This whole outfit cost me a total of 55 dollars, not including the boots. You can find this whole outfit, minus the boots, through my liketoknowit app or shop below for pieces through my ShopStylecollective app.
My shoot for this outfit was a breath of fresh air. I got to know one of the dopest Minneapolis black photographers more than I had in previous shoots. Lamar Ballinger is an artist, dedicated husband, and father of three beautiful princesses. He reminded me of my family since I am the oldest of three girls. It was fun shooting with him and I made sure to write about him to get the word out about his work. Supporting black-owned businesses is one of the reasons I started blogging in the first place and I have noticed that I’m slacking in that department as of late.

I hope your fall is full of growth and loveliness.
Solidarity.
